Frequently Asked Questions

Your wedding package includes 10 hours. What if I need more time?
From our years of experience, we have found that the vast majority of wedding day timelines require 10 hours (or loosely 9-11 hours) from getting-ready pictures to reception open dancing. Often, too much open dancing can be captured, when guests want to be left alone. In the beginning stages of wedding planning, it is often very confusing to determine the total photography hours needed, or your timeline is simply not established. Let us help you secure this. Bottom line, unless you are having one of these three options, you will probably not need more than 9-11 hours of actual photography: 1. morning church ceremony (such as 11:00am). 2. Sparkler send-off at the end of the evening. 3. You 100% want the last dance captured because it will be something special. If one of these three options applies, let’s talk about a reasonable rate to capture this extra time for you. If these options do not apply, trust us, 9-11 hours is ample.
You include 10 hours in your wedding package. What if I need less time?
If you are having a full-day wedding, you are probably not going to need less than 10 hours of photography (or loosely 9-11 hours). It’s possible 7-8 hours will do the trick, but this is in the minority. A 7-8 hour day usually contains the same exact elements as a 9-11 hour day, just a more intense amount of work in a shorter time. We typically prefer more time to truly capture your story without rushing.
I am having a smaller wedding and truly only need 2-5 hours of photography.
Though not the norm, we understand this will happen a few times a year. Simply put, let’s discuss your wedding in great detail and supply a custom quote. Note: smaller wedding packages are only offered on Fridays, or on off-season Saturdays. Mid-April through December is considered prime-time wedding season these days.
I’m confused. If I need 9 hours, shouldn’t that cost less than 11 hours? Why do you not have an hourly rate?
Truth be told, every wedding is unique. Some have breaks in the timeline and some don’t. We like to be realistic, and find most wedding day timelines require 9-11 hours (just summed up to 10 hours on average). We find regardless off where your wedding falls in that 9-11 hour period, you will get the same amount of pictures in the end. This is simply because some wedding timelines have more breaks (11 hours), and some are non-stop (9 hours).
I am very confused how to plan my wedding timeline.
No worries at all. We have photographed over 600 weddings, and have seen everything. We will help you plan your day so there is ample time for everything. Remember, we truly want you to have the absolute best day ever. With all the planning, time and money spent, you owe it to yourself to enjoy every minute, and not rush or stress.
Do you offer engagement or portrait sessions?
Yes, we love engagement, high school senior, family and maternity sessions. Please click on our PRICING link and scroll down for further details.
What if we just want one wedding photographer?
We feel that one photographer just cannot give you the quality, quantity and diversity of shots that we can. Our reputation has been built upon our ability to fully accommodate you throughout the day, and we can only continue that as a team.
What if we have people who don’t like getting their picture taken?
Not to worry — we see this all the time! After all, this is the big day, so the nerves are bound to be a little raw. First, remember that we build a relationship with you well before the wedding day. Second, we have a variety of ways to make even the most apprehensive person feel comfortable. In fact, we even have what we call “shake-your-nerves shots.”
Can you apply filters to our photos?
The short answer is yes, but what we’ve learned is that filters are almost too subjective to be successful. Let’s talk about your vision and go from there! Your gallery will be edited where needed for blemishes, light skin softening, contrast, texture enhancement, and crucial object removal.
What’s your photography style?
We believe every wedding is unique based on your location, timeline, personalities and preferences. Therefore, we want our images to be very natural and express your wedding day experience, not someone else’s. Every wedding gets its own individual attention to photograph and edit in the proper fashion.
What if I have questions before the wedding?
We can’t say this enough: we are here for you before, during and after! We can help you with your wedding day plan. This isn’t just our job. This is our calling. We encourage you to call us with questions or concerns.
How do I hire you as my wedding photographer?
When possible, we would love to meet you for a fun introductory meeting. We require a signed, one-page contract and a deposit to hold your date. The deposit is deducted from your total. Your remaining balance is due 48 hours before your wedding day. Many couples choose to pay their balance at our wedding consultation, one month before your wedding.
